How Does it Work?

Step 1:
Place Order with Store

Whatever you need, the first step is to place an order online or over the phone. Detailed instructions for each store are included on the Schedule a Delivery page when you hover over the store you wish to order from. You will also find details such as which location to use and whether there are any store specific instructions​

Helpful Tips:

  • Designate "Alison or Jon Rogers" for pick up.

  • Choose an early pick up time slot on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

Step 2:
Schedule A Delivery
  1. Go to our Schedule a Delivery page.

  2. Select Groceries, Essentials or Curbside Pick Up from the menu on the left.

  3. Choose the company or store you have ordered from.

  4. Click "Add to My Order" 

  5. The delivery is in your shopping cart on the right side of the screen

  6. Indicate a date for delivery. The time is not necessary, we just need to know which day.

  7. Click on the "Order Now" button.

  8. The next page will have a map and you will need to enter your Island address then press "Continue"

  9. Next enter your contact information and press "Continue"

  10. If you wish to pay by e-transfer or cash select manual. Send e-transfer to torontoislanddeliveries@gmail.com . 

  11. If you wish to use a credit card to pay, select credit card and follow the instructions.

  12. Finally, confirm your order.

  1. Go to our Schedule a Delivery page.

  2. Select Groceries, Essentials or Curbside Pick Up from the menu on the left.

  3. Choose the company or store you have ordered from and click on it to see detailed instructions.

  4. Please answer the questions which will pop up. We need different information for different stores.

  5. Click on the "Add to Cart" button.

  6. The delivery is in your shopping cart on the right side of the screen

  7. Follow the check out instructions.

  8. Choose Free Delivery - Don't worry you will be charged for your delivery. It's just a glitch of the checkout app we are using.

  9. If you prefer, you can still contact us by email at torontoislanddeliveries@gmail.com to schedule a delivery and use the same email to e-transfer your payment.

FAQ

If I order my groceries on a Tuesday, when will they be delivered?

 

The short answer is: that depends on the grocery store you have chosen to order from.

 

Loblaws, No Frills, and Walmart require you to choose a pick up date and time.

 

So long as that date is a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, that is the day your groceries will be delivered.

 

Delivery slots for all three stores are most often available for the next morning the night before. Please choose a pick up time before 12:00 pm if possible.

Longo's requires a full 48 hours notice. So any orders received by Longo's before: ​

Step 3:
Delivered to Your Door

Once you place your order, several things happen and you don't have to lift a finger.

​

A store clerk picks your order and prepares it for pick up. Toronto Island Deliveries picks up your order, rides the ferry to the Island, and delivers right to your door.​

​

Your delivery will generally arrive between 2 and 4 pm. 

 

Your goods will be left on your doorstep.

 

We know many people are working or napping or otherwise engaged when we come to deliver. We will knock briefly on your door to let you know your delivery has arrived and then we will leave. You do not need to answer your door unless you wish to pay cash for your delivery.

 

If your goods are delivered in a storage tote with a yellow lid, simply leave the tote in front of your house. Please nest the boxes inside of one another. We will come by as soon as we can to pick them up.

Please do not leave your groceries outside for too long. The totes are not critter-proof. Critters have chewed through the lid of one tote already. 

​

Please do not use our totes to store your groceries once you bring them inside. We need to get them back in order to have time to prepare them for the next set of deliveries.

Food security is our first priority. That is why all services provided by Toronto Island Deliveries are Pay What You Can. The stated price is the default fee that will be charged but, if the fee is out of reach for your family, alternate arrangements are available including a full fee waiver.
